Welcome

Deciding to start therapy is hard; finding a good counselor can be overwhelming.

Whether you are starting therapy due to a recent crisis or to resolve past hurts, it does not mean there is something wrong with you. It means you need some resources, perspective, education, or receive direction.

Once you have made a decision to see a therapist, you still might be apprehensive about the process. Many people feel nervous before their first appointment. Therapy is a shared journey - shared process. It is ultimately your journey and you will make your own decisions. The therapist does not have answers to all your concerns, but the therapist does have the ability to listen carefully and will ask thoughtful questions. Your answers to these questions will help shape the direction of our work. You can expect to be respected. You can expect that your therapist will offer opinions and suggestions without telling you what to do.
